Eyelid Surgery in Boston, MA
Plastic surgery of the eyelids, or blepharoplasty, is a procedure to remove drooping eyelids or puffy bags under the eyes, both of which can make your face look older and more tired than you feel. Blepharoplasty can take years off your appearance by opening up your eye area to give your face a younger, fresher look.
Blepharoplasty can be performed on either the upper or lower lids, or they can be done at the same time, depending on your requirements and goals. Tiny incisions are made along the natural lines of your eyelids, through which excess fat, skin and muscle are removed. These incisions are then closed with fine sutures. Blepharoplasty usually requires only local anesthesia. Recovery includes some bruising and swelling that can last up to two weeks. Vigorous exercise is limited for several weeks after the surgery.
As with any cosmetic procedure at Advanced Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center, every blepharoplasty is customized to the patient’s needs and we encourage you to come in for a personalized consultation with our Plastic Surgeon to define your needs and help you to achieve your goals.
Breast Augmentation in Boston, MA
Breast Augmentation is a surgical procedure that enhances the size and shape of a woman’s breast. Many women turn to breast enlargement to enhance their body contour because they feel their breasts are too small, want to correct changes to their breasts following pregnancy, want to balance the size of their breasts or have one of many other personal reasons for considering breast implants.
By inserting either saline or silicone gel-filled breast implants, most often placed behind the chest muscle, the procedure is able to increase a woman’s bust line by one or more bra cup sizes, depending upon the desire of the patient.
Breast Enhancement is one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures performed today, but we recognize that each patient has different needs and goals. Considering and preparing for a breast enlargement includes making an informed choice. Upon contacting our office, a personal, private consultation with our Plastic Surgeon will be arranged where you can discuss your goals, and customize your surgery to fit your needs and optimize your results.
A modified Breast Lift is often used to complement breast implants. A modified Breast Lift improves mild sagging commonly seen after pregnancy or weight loss to give the breast a more appealing shape and contour.
As with any cosmetic procedure at Advanced Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center, each Breast Enhancement is customized to the patient’s needs and we encourage you to come in for a personalized consultation with our Plastic Surgeon to define your needs and help you to achieve your goals.
Silicone vs. Saline – What’s the difference?
A silicone breast implant consists of a silicone shell filled with silicone gel, as opposed to the saline solution used in saline implants. Most silicone implants are only available as fixed volume implants, meaning that they are filled to the desired size before the time of surgery. Dr Hricko uses the Keller Funnel Device to facilitate the insertion of the silicone gel implants at the time of surgery. There are several options when choosing the outer silicone shell, with different kinds varying in texture, shape, profile, volume and thickness. Silicone-filled breast implants are approved by the FDA for use in women over the age of 22.
A saline breast implant consists of a silicone shell filled with a saline solution, as opposed to the silicone gel used in silicone implants. There are two types of saline-filled implants currently available, fixed volume and adjustable volume. A fixed volume is completely inflated to the desired size at the time of surgery; an adjustable volume implant is filled intra-operatively and allows for post-operative adjustments. Both are approved by the FDA for use in women over the age of 18.
Liposuction in Boston, MA
Liposuction can enhance your appearance and refine the contours of your body by removing pockets of fat in your targeted areas. Inner and outer thighs, hip rolls, abdomen, upper arms, neck, and enlarged male breasts, are examples of such areas. It is especially effective for those areas of the body where diet and exercise are not producing desired results.
During the liposuction surgery, localized deposits of fat are removed to recontour one or more areas of the body. Through a tiny incision, a narrow tube is inserted and used to vacuum the fat layer that lies deep beneath the skin.
We perform liposuction surgery using the external ultrasonic tumescent liposuction technique. These are two of the most advanced techniques in liposuction that help reduce bleeding, post-operative bruising, swelling and pain. The external ultrasonic method uses ultrasound to alter fat deposits, making them easier to remove. In the tumescent liposuction technique, the targeted fat is injected with a physiologic solution before surgery. This causes the fat to swell and improves penetration of the ultrasound wave, leading to easier removal of the fatty tissue.
Typically patients return home the evening of surgery and most return to work within a week. Vigorous exercise is limited for several weeks.
